The Good Earth Co. produces biochar as an organic soil amendment. Biochar is a specialized form of charcoal, crushed and charged with organic nutrients and beneficial soil microbes. Biochar increases soil fertility, moisture holding capacity and the biodiversity of the soil. It is also an excellent way to sequester atmospheric CO2, to generate renewable energy and to make excellent use of organic waste materials. Our locally made biochar is an excellent amendment for seeding mixes, for planting with trees and for use in garden beds. The Good Earth is an initiative of The Urban Farmer, a BC business promoting sustainable agriculture and permaculture throughout Western Canada and internationally.
